It is called the MEDICAL ALLOTMENT PLAN or MAP. It is based upon the philosophy that we are our brother’s keeper. The author of this plan (I am the guilty one) feels that any civilized society would be populated by people who would not want to stand by and watch another human being suffer and die because he or she did not have enough money to either buy insurance coverage or pay for health care. Everyone, rich or poor, can be in an accident or become seriously ill so that medical care may be needed. This medical care can often involve significant costs. Life is often a matter of chance. Some are born with great intelligence and capabilities, others may be born with a lot less and even have serious mental and physical handicaps that make it almost impossible to get enough money together to pay for insurance. Perfectly self-reliant, hard workers can find themselves unemployed due to a sudden change in the economy beyond their control. If, as a result, they are barely able to make mortgage or rent payments, how can one expect them to pay for health insurance as Obama demands? And how can we expect young people to pay for health insurance while they are struggling to pay off student loans now taken over by our obamanation government? For a government to require such purchases is a ludicrous and brain-dead concept!
As matters now stand, those without insurance can go to the ER and be treated, but that is the highest cost care around. The greatest factor in the continuing rise in the costs of health care is the very existence of insurance itself. My Plan would mean that no one would have to purchase insurance yet the Plan would guarantee the best possible health care known to man. The Plan – MAP – has a built in mechanism that allows only the patient and the doctor to make medical decisions and it provides for a reward to the patient for carefully watching what is spent and how; it would cut out over-charging, fraud, and unnecessary testing to protect the doctor against lawsuits. This is a constructive way to achieve tort reform which is a major cost factor. The MAP is a synergistic plan that would guarantee not only first-class health care, but also guarantee a decent retirement by making Wall Street the Friend of Main Street.
